Christopher S. Keator, PhD, currently serves as the DIrector for Laboratory Animal Resources and Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine (WMed). He earned his MS and PhD in Reproductive Physiology, Animal Sciences at the University of Connecticut, then completed postdoctoral studies (from 2006-2011) in the Division of Reproductive Sciences at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. At WMed, he served as the Founding Chair of the WMed IACUC from 2016 through 2023, also serving concomitantly as the IACUC Coordinator on three different occassions during those 7 years. He successfully negotiated the original WMed Assurance with NIH OLAW in 2016 which was subsequently renewed in 2020 and 2024. As IACUC Chair he led the WMed program to full accreditation with AAALAC in 2019, and since 2021 has served as the Unit Contact and updated WMed's Program Description in 2022 and 2025. Since 2022, Chris has served as an Ad Hoc Specialist with AAALAC International and as a member of the PRIMR IACUC Conference Planning Committee.
