Dr. Deborah Mook, DVM, DACLAM, is Executive Director of the Division of Animal Resources (DAR) at Emory University School of Medicine. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and began her career in small animal practice in Chicago before transitioning to laboratory animal medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Mook completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University and later joined the faculty, assuming leadership of the DAR in 2024.
As Executive Director, Dr. Mook oversees the operations of a large and complex program, with a focus on organizational efficiency, financial stewardship, and strategic growth. She is committed to guiding the DAR through today’s challenges while positioning the program for a transformative and innovative future in laboratory animal medicine.
