Sarah Mumford, MBA, CIP
Sarah Mumford is the incoming Associate Vice President, Human Subject Protections at the University of Rochester. For the past 3 years she was the Director of the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign which includes the IRB Committee and IRB administrative staff. Previously, Sarah was at the University of Utah having worked in all aspects of IRB review, management, and institutional compliance activities. She has been involved in several initiatives and working groups focused on operationalizing the Single IRB review process and Exception from Informed Consent research. Prior to her IRB work, Sarah focused on pediatric orthopedic research working with researchers as part of the Pediatric Spine Foundation as well as working in product development for a major medical device manufacturer specializing in Class III devices. She has a BS in Accounting and an MBA from Purdue University.
