Suspending a research activity is one of the most challenging and sensitive actions an IACUC or IRB can undertake. This session will explore the complexities that make suspension decisions feel like navigating a precarious house of cards. Participants will examine key factors contributing to these difficulties and learn practical strategies to prepare for, manage, and respond effectively before, during, and after a suspension to minimize disruption and maintain institutional integrity.

  • Differentiate between the practical challenges of implementing a suspension and the perceived fears that may influence decision-making
