As AI use in the workplace continues to evolve, it increasingly relies on access to critical institutional data and drives decision-making in the absence of formal policies. Institutional leaders should prepare their offices for use of AI that is guided by clear principles, ethical standards, and well-defined procedures. This ensures AI is applied responsibly, transparently, and effectively—supporting decision-making through thorough analysis and automation while upholding integrity and accountability.

Learning Objectives:

  • Establish your organizations risk tolerance for AI use by identifying both current and anticipated applications, including the handling of sensitive or confidential data
  • Consider the ethical and legal concerns with using institutional data in the context of other privacy policies, data security/sharing, bias mitigation, and confidentiality
