Event Overview

The 2025 PRIM&R Annual Conference (PRIMR25) will take place on November 7 and 8, 2025 at the Baltimore Convention Center, One West Pratt Street, Baltimore, Maryland. The PRIM&R Social Behavioral Educational Research Conference (SBER25) will take place in the same location on November 6.

PRIMR25/SBER25 is designed to educate and connect all those involved in research and research oversight, and to support the field in thinking holistically about the research enterprise and achieving our shared goal of advancing ethical, responsible, and high-quality research. As research evolves and modernizes, we aim to do the same.

Audience

• HRPP/IRB, IACUC/ACU, and IBC directors, administrators, chairs, and members
• Compliance personnel
• Clinical research professionals
• QA/QI personnel
• Institutional research leadership
• Federal and state agency employees
• Public relations professionals
• Researchers and research staff
• Research subject and patient advocates
• Ethicists
• And, anyone else working within the research enterprise!

Conference Format

PRIMR25/SBER25 is designed so attendees can create a conference experience that best meets their professional needs and interests. The agenda will be ready in the summer of 2025, but the schedule will be as follows:

• November 6: PRIMR25 Workshops
  • In-depth half-day programming on topics related to human subjects protections, animal care and use, institutional leadership, and crossover* content.
    Pre-registration for workshops is required and is an additional fee.
• November 6: SBER25
  • One-day meeting that is geared toward those working with and/or conducting social behavioral and educational research. Sessions will include higher level plenaries that discuss larger ethical issues and timely challenges, breakout sessions that allow for in-depth exploration of a topic and working with others, networking sessions, and an evening reception.
    Pre-registration for this meeting is required and is an additional fee.
• November 7-8: PRIMR25
  • Each day will include plenary, breakout, networking sessions, roundtable discussions, and access to a poster gallery, exhibit hall, and affiliate events. 
  • Sessions are geared toward those working in human subjects research, animal care and use, and/or institutional leadership, as well as sessions on crossover topics*.

*Crossover content is geared to all those working in research, ethics, and oversight and is on shared oversight challenges, emerging issues in research, and challenges to trustworthiness in research.
