Rosa Harmon, MSHCA, RVT, CPIA is the Assistant Director in the Office of Research Compliance at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The Lundquist Institute is funded by grants from the NIH and other government entities, industry and teaching contracts and royalties, as well as private donors and other non-profit foundations. She began working in laboratory animal medicine in 2003 at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center as the animal facility manager, veterinary technician, and IACUC member. In 2009, she became an animal welfare administrator at UCLA for the IACUC where she coordinated and participated in semiannual facility inspections. She moved on to the Lundquist Institute in 2016 where she provides administrative support to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the Institutional Biosafety Committee, and the Conflict of Interest Committee. Rosa enjoys working with investigators to help them comply with animal welfare regulations while they work toward finding treatments for diseases that affect human and animals. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, her pit bull mix, and plays tennis.
