Melanie Lucas, MS, CPIA, is the Director of Research Compliance for UConn and UConn Health where she oversees the animal care and use and safety programs for both campuses. Melanie is a seasoned leader in research compliance with over 10 years of experience guiding strategic initiatives, developing programs and resources, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. She is dedicated to building partnerships across units to support the research community while maintaining a strong and effective compliance framework. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys traveling, staying active with her family, and spending time outdoors.
