Dr. Wilson is the Animal Program Director & Attending Veterinarian at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Intramural Research Program, in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Wilson joined the NIH in 2017, first serving with the Office of Research Services, Division of Veterinary Resources in clinical and facility veterinary roles, prior to joining NIDA in 2022. Dr. Wilson is responsible for helping to continue the strong AAALAC- accredited program that NIDA has developed, ensuring the health and well-being of research animals. Dr. Wilson oversees a group of dedicated staff that provide husbandry, training, and veterinary care, among other services, to the IRP. In addition, Dr. Wilson works as a member of the Animal Care and Use Committee lending his expertise to the review of IRP study protocols.
