Tiffany M. Borjeson, DVM, DACLAM, CPIA
Dr. Borjeson is the Associate Director of the Division of Comparative Medicine and the Attending Veterinarian at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she also serves as Director of MIT’s Transgenic Services Core Facility.
In her current role, Dr. Borjeson provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of MIT’s animal care and use program, supporting its clinical, programmatic, and regulatory missions. She is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical research practices while fostering excellence in training the next generation of laboratory animal veterinarians and advancing compliance and program sustainability.
Dr. Borjeson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia–Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her postdoctoral residency in Comparative Medicine through MIT’s training program. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM) and a Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA).
Before returning to MIT in 2023, Dr. Borjeson served as Associate Director at Brown University’s Center for Animal Resources and Education, as interim Director of Animal Resources, and as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at Virginia Tech. She also serves as an ad hoc Consultant for AAALAC and is an active member of several committees, including those within ACLAM and ASLAP.
