This session highlights how a comprehensive IRB education program meets the distinct needs of new researchers—including students and early career investigators—as well as experienced PIs. By offering targeted support such as one-on-one office hours, personalized learning sessions, live webinars, and robust resources like a dynamic website, newsletters, and short instructional videos, the program enhances protocol quality while streamlining the IRB process. Special focus is given to onboarding researchers new to SBER, ensuring foundational concepts are understood. Participants will learn how this comprehensive approach benefits all institutional stakeholders by meeting researchers where they are.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key services and resources essential for a comprehensive IRB education program that supports both new and experienced researchers
  • Compile a suite of technological resources to facilitate effective IRB training for researchers
  • Design a comprehensive education program for PIs that aligns with IRB processes and accommodates varying researcher experience levels
