Crossover Learning Lab Series Call for Session Proposal - CSP CPIA Accredited
Recruiting and retaining dedicated non-scientist and non-affiliated members for IRBs and IACUCs is often seen as a critical yet challenging task. These members offer essential perspectives that enrich research ethics deliberations, but finding, welcoming, and engaging them requires intentional effort. This interactive session will highlight innovative strategies to identify and attract community representatives, create a welcoming and meaningful experience, and provide ongoing support to sustain their involvement. Participants will gain practical tools, inspiring success stories, and fresh ideas to build stronger, more diverse, and well-informed committees.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply effective strategies for identifying and recruiting community and non-scientist members
  • Evaluate various onboarding approaches to support new committee members
  • Develop retention techniques and foster a culture that actively values and supports diverse member contributions
