Jessie Hemmons, M.S. is a clinical coodinator with the Technology and Translational Research Unit (TTRU) at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) with over a decade of experience leading federally funded clinical trials investigating human behavior and individualized interventions for behavior change. TTRU's research explores human behavior through language analysis and the development of AI-driven, personalized interventions related to substance use.
She is also a J.D. Candidate (2026) at Temple University. Her legal and ethical interests center on the use of artificial intelligence in high-stakes decision-making, with particular emphasis on employment screening, predictive analytics, and potential discrimination in algorithmic tools. She is well-versed in U.S. employment law, sectoral and state laws in data privacy, and the evolving risks of data brokering. Her current research interests include the ethics of developing and publishing health-related predictive AI tools, ensuring data integrity, and advancing methods for detecting coordinated fraud in online research.
