Saraf Salim currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the IRB at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Prior to this role, Ms. Salim was a Senior Human Subjects Protection Scientist for the Office of Human Research Oversight under the Defense Health Agency. She is also a former Public Health Advisor for the Division of Policy and Assurances at the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Before joining OHRP, Ms. Salim served as Assistant Director and Chair of the Harvard University Area Institutional Review Board, Institutional Review Board Administrator of the Harvard University Area Institutional Review Board, and sat on the Social, Educational and Biomedical Research subcommittee for Harvard Catalyst. Ms. Salim is also a former CDC Scholar through the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and holds a BA in Neurobiology from Boston University and an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, from Boston University School of Public Health.
