Caroline Davis (she/her) has managed the Ethics Review Program and Institutional Review Board within Microsoft Research (MSR) since 2019. Prior to MSR, she spent eight years in research administration and oversight at Fred Hutch / University of Washington Cancer Research Center in Seattle, with roles spanning across grants and contracts, IRB, and IACUC. She also spent two years working on the sponsor side of the research ecosystem, providing critical support to a start-up biotech company running multiple clinical trials across the U.S. and Canada.
Caroline is passionate about guiding researchers from all disciplines in how to effectively apply ethical principles to novel methodologies, in ways that respect the rights and welfare of those contributing to the research. She holds a BA in Political Science from Dickinson College.
